Notched and worn along the folds from once being bound within an album as a result the bifolia remain bound together, rubbing to the exterior, light offsetting throughout, and music shop/publisher stamps on the front cover, complete but just a good or better copy. An instrumental piece for piano. Plate imprint, "Rom by W." Dedicated to J.W. Davison. The publisher's information and estimated publication date are derived from the stamps on the front cover and the premiere of the opera this piece is from; if there was printed publisher's information it has rubbed off. G. Andre of Philadelphia was a publisher but they were also a music shop (meaning they sold works by other publishers). There are three stamps on the front cover, one is barely visible, one is an older address (19 S. Fifth St., but G. Andre existed at this location before the opera premiered), the stamp overlapping it is difficult to make out but it appears to be the address 1104 Chestnut St., thus our estimated date range (Dichter & Shapiro *Handbook of Early American Sheet Music: 1768-1889*).
