[I] Stammhammer I, 255. - Fromm XXX. - [II] Stammhammer I, 33. - Alexandre Rodolphe Vinet (1797-1847), Literaturhistoriker und Schweizer reformierter Theologe, gilt als klassischer Vertreter einer Trennung von Staat und Kirche. Als pietistisches Mitglied der Erweckungsbewegung legte er nach dem Sieg der liberalen Kantone im Sonderbundskrieg sein Amt nieder und gründete zusammen mit Monnard die vom Staat getrennte Freie Kirche 'Église libre évangélique'. - Karl Viktor Böhmert (1829-1918) war Journalist, Freihändler, Volkswirt und Statistiker. Er befürwortete die Einigung der deutschen Staaten zu einem Nationalstaat sowie eine auf Selbstständigkeit und Freiheit basierende Gesellschaft, worinn er das wirksamste Mittel gegen materielle Not und geistige Armut der unteren Schichten sah. Wohlfahrtsstaatliche Konzepte und Klassenideologien lehnte er entschieden ab, da für ihn Arbeiter ebenfalls Bürger waren und soziale Hilfsmaßnahmen in seinen Augen lediglich die Abhängigkeit der unteren Schichten erhöhen und somit getrennte Klassen erst hervorbringen, beziehungsweise bereits bestehende Unterschiede festigen würden. - Einband insgesamt etwas berieben und angestaubt, Ecken etwas bestoßen und oberes Kapital bestoßen mit Fehlstelle im Bezugspapier. Schnitte gebräunt. Besitzstempel auf dem Innendeckel, Besitzvermerk und Titelnotozen alter Hand mit Tinte auf dem Vorsatz. Papier von [I] durchgängig leicht braunfleckig, Papier von [II] gleichmäßig gebräunt. Insgesamt gutes, wenngleich nicht mehr ganz frisches und äußerlich ein wenig abgegriffenes Exemplar.
