Instalou-se em Luanda, em 1914, onde exerceu a profissão de advogado até falecer em 1955. Fundou o Jornal de Angola em 1916 e ficou célebre pela forma como defendia as suas causas em tribunal, tornando-se uma figura característica de Luanda, na primeira metade do século XX.
