Add to basketCondition: Near Fine. First edition, first printing. Walter E. Traprock is the pseudonym for architect and writer George S. Chappell. He wrote a series of travel parodies, one of which is Sarah of the Sahara. In this humorous adventure, Traprock pursues the lovely Sarah Wimpole, from Cannes to Africa, facing thieves and Azad the… Terrible. Throughout the novel are staged photographs of the characters poorly inserted into desert scenes, including one of a "native musician performing on the Balipsa, one of the earliest Egyptian wind-instruments," which is just a vacuum cleaner upon closer inspection (186). A perfect blend of humor and excitement, Traprock will quickly become a favorite adventurer. Light rubbing edges, near fine. Publisher's green cloth stamped in gilt. With seventeen full page illustrations (illustrator).
