Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. Ex-library with spine slip, cardholder, university and withdrawn stamps, 4-inch tear along spine edge, fraying at head of spine, 1.5 inch edge tear on one leaf, Good. Compliments slip from the Librarian of the Royal University of Uppsala tipped in. Svedberg won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Uppsala, 1944. 24,5x17 cm. 731, (1 blank) pp. + 3 leaves of plates. Original grey half-linen binding with printed title on spine and front board. Owner stamp of Carl G. Holmberg on front paste-down. The boards are slightly soiled. Contents are fine, with just a few scattered small specks. Published on the occasion of Svedberg's 60th birthday, with contributions in Swedish, English, German, and French by, for instance, Sven Arrhenius, John Olsson, Bror Holmberg, Carl Drucker, Björn Ingelman, and G. Hevesy.
