Exhibition Announcement Cards. This is not a book. The original announcement cards/invitations for a party and auction to benefit the Aperture Foundation, titled "The Open Road" and held at Terminal 5, NYC, October 21, 2014. The event was billed as "an evening of art and entertainment in tribute to Robert Frank" and featured a "performance of photography and music" created by Alec Soth, Billy Bragg, and Joe Purdy as well as The Kills live. Three items: A "Save the Date" postcard, printed both sides; 6 x 4 inches; Very Good, mailed with light indications. An announcement card with more info, printed both sides; 7 x 5 inches; a vertical crease otherwise Fine. A spiral-fold "postcard folder" with six 7x5-inch cards with perforations between them (rip cards) with a reply card and envelope laid-in; mailed, with postal marks, a touch of scuffing, and four plastic tabs to hold it together, interior clean. Will be sandwiched securely between stiff layers of cardboard and shipped the next business day.…

Contains 288 printed pages of German text with monochrome photographs throughout. The fourth front end paper has an authentic tipped-in monochrome photograph of the boy soldier Josef Allerberger, below which is a dedication in German to the author Albrecht Wacker and SIGNED ''Josef 'Sepp' Allerberger''. Hand written number 6 of 100 Limited Edition copies SIGNED by the author 'Albrecht Wacker' to the title page. In Fine unused and new condition. In 2005, a book titled 'Sniper on the Eastern Front: The Memoirs of Sepp Allerberger, Knight's Cross' was written by Albrecht Wacker based on interviews with Allerberger. The book was noted for suggesting that the Soviets had cannibalised their own comrades' corpses, and graphic depictions of torture. The translation into English is an abridged version of this book 'Im Auge des Jägers'.
