Contact seller5-star seller[4], 76 pages. Hardcover: H 15.25cm x L 11cm. No dust jacket present. White cloth soiled; front board decorated with color pictorial paste-on. Black-colored leaves throughout with vibrant color illustrations of the artist's paintings on most rectos with white text on opposing versos. Includes essays by New York City art gallery…owner Joachim Jean Aberbach, Washington, D.C. Phillips Collection curator Richard Friedman, and Auckland City Art Gallery director Richard Teller Hirsch. Biographical notes at rear; b/w portrait photograph of painter Hundertwasser on rear pastedown. Austrian-born artist, sculptor, and architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000) is best known for his artistic theory of transautomatism which, albeit based upon Surrealist automatism, emphasizes a viewer's visual experience rather than that of the artist. Hundertwasser's art was inspired by Egon Schiele and his style similar to Gustav Klimt but his architecture is most often compared to Antoni Gaudi. Dedication page and rear copyright page have several lines of text obscured under black marker else a very good- copy.
