Over the years, A&P expanded its product line and eventually became one of the most prominent grocery retailers in United States. A&P was the largest grocery retailer in the U.S. from 1915-1975 and was also the largest of any retailer until 1965. Trade cards became popular in the United States during the nineteenth century in the period after the Civil War. The late nineteenth century also saw the advent of trade card collecting as a hobby. While they are no longer in use, trade cards influenced the formation of trading cards and were the predecessors of modern-day business cards.…

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book enters the kitchens of the past, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of food and household appliances. The author leads a culinary exploration through detailed descriptions of historical kitchens, and an examination of how the technology and tools we use to cook have evolved over the centuries. From the hearths of medieval castles to the rise of the modern kitchen with its electrical appliances, the author traces the profound impact these changes have had on our lives and cultures. Along the way, the book explores the social and economic forces that have shaped our eating habits, and the ways in which cooking and food have been central to human experience. Ultimately, the book reveals how the history of the kitchen is not just a history of technology, but also a history of humanity itself. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
