Kitap, Mimari Bilgisi adiyla, 'Guzel Sanatlar Akademisi Nesriyati' olarak, Taut'un Akademi'de ayni adla verdigi dersi icin basilmis. O donemin kosullarinin elverdigi olcude cevrilmis olmasi ve oldukca eskimis olan dili, kitabin bugun yeniden cevrilmesini zorunlu kildi. 1977'den bugune birkac kez yayimlanmis olan Almanca metne ulasilabilmesi buna olanak taniyordu; kitap ozenli ve titiz bir ceviriyle yeniden dilimize kazandirildi. Kitapta fotograf ve cizimlerin onemli bir yeri var. Sayisi 112'yi bulan gorsellerin bir bolumu Taut'un kendi cektigi fotograflardan, mimarlik dergilerinden ve usta mimarin kendi yayinlarindan alinmis gorsellerden olusuyor. Yeni basima konacak gorsellerin belirlenmesinde, metnin bugune tasinmasindaki yol izlendi ve reproduksiyonu niteliksiz sonuc verecek -ve degistirilmesi kitabi zedelemeyecek- tum gorseller guncellendi. Guncellemenin son adimi ise, kitabin, ozgun adi olan Mimarlik Ogretisi'ne kavusmasi oldu. Kitabin bu son bicimiyle, Taut okurlarina yeni ve taze sozler soylemeyi surdurecegini soylemek yanlis olmayacaktir.".
