Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents the revolutionary geometric ideas of the ancient Greek mathematician, Euclid, in a systematic and accessible manner. Originally written as a single work between 300 and 250 BC, Euclid's Elements remained the definitive work on geometry for over 2000 years and laid the foundation for modern mathematics as we know it. The book is composed of 13 books, each focusing on different aspects of geometric principles and theorems, extending from basic definitions and fundamental shapes to complex geometric propositions that serve as the building blocks for more advanced mathematics. The Elements introduced a systematic method for defining terms, stating axioms, and proving theorems, which is considered the backbone of mathematical reasoning today. The profound impact of Euclid's work is undeniable, having shaped not just mathematics but also the development of Western scientific thought as a whole, and continues to serve as an essential reference for students, scholars, and practitioners of mathematics and science. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Esemplare genuino e marginoso. Molto ben conservato.
