Inscribed in a blue pen on the half-title page: "For Helen and Johnny Johnston, Two friends, with appreciation and affection, Grace and Horace." The entire inscription is in Horace Albright's hand. Uncommon signed. Albright was the second Director of the National Park Service and was highly influential in that role. Previously he was the superintendent of Yellowstone National Park and more briefly of Yosemite. Ultimately he was awarded a Presidential Medal for Freedom. His biographer Donald Swain was a professor of history at UC Davis.A very good book in cream cloth with some faint foxing to text block faces and some subtle stiffness and waviness to lower page edges in sections, a slivers of dampstaining on a couple pages. Brown endpapers with a some rubbing to outer edges. Still very good. In a near fine jacket with a touch of wear to corners.

Jack Reneau is a renowned expert on big-game hunting and wildlife management, serving as director of Big Game Records for the Boone And Crockett Club for many years, author and editor of more than 60 Boone And Crockett Club books on hunting/history. Original beige cloth with gilt lettering spine, brown EPs with decoration. The book has clean cover but some foxing spots to spine cloth, very light foxing to text block edges, no foxing on page faces, other than the inscription there are not former owner marks or writing on any pages, solid binding. The original dust jacket is clean, no tears, no loss, no rubbing, 100% complete. The book measures 222mm tall x 143mm and has 347 pages, 9 b/w photos, bibliography, index.
