All bound in brown morocco leather, worn and rubbed to the spine and board edges, gilt rule to the board edges. Pagination: xviii, 4pp subscribers, [9], 10-463pp, 2 full page Warping Plans of the River Trent (not mentioned in the Directions to the Binder), 5 full page plates, 2 full page colour plates, 3 coloured folding maps, 1 folding pedigree of the Sheffields family and other Pedigrees, with illustrations in the text throughout. Illustration on page 322 is in the text and not full page. Provenance: bookplate with the initials SJT to the front paste down. Approximately 11 ½ (29cm) inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles and author's name to 2 red labels, green gilt lined leather scroll surrounding the labels and linking the two (see photos) rubbed and worn, marked and scratched. Joints good condition rubbed and worn. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition full leather, gilt titles and initials to two red leather labels, joined by a green leather scroll, rubbed and worn, marks and scratches. Page edges good condition tanned, top edge darkened gilt. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound, paper cracked to the hinges, leather intact. Paste downs good condition marbled, bookplate. End papers good condition marbled, subsequently tanned. Title good condition tanned. Pages good condition tanned, some misnumbering but contents complete, map corners folded, many times, particularly to the first map. Binding good condition attractive.
