Woods and Dales of Derbyshire, by the Rev. James S. Stone. Published by George W. Jacobs & Co., Philadelphia, PA, 1894. This is #116 of 400 editions. Signed by the author on the limited edition page. Very good book, no dust jacket. Maroon cloth covered boards with beveled edges. Gilt lettering and small village design on front panel, gilt lettering and graphics on spine. Upper external page edges are gilt; side and lower edges are untrimmed and darkened from age and soil. Spine is sunned; edges at head and tail of spine are split and fraying and adjacent board panel edges are rubbed. Board panels are soiled, more so around edges likely from handling. Back board panel has scuffs and several darker stains. Rub throughs on fore-edge corners and adjacent edges. Front inside gutter is cracked but holding. Quire with pp. 87-98 is loose. Text pages are age-toned else clean and with very little foxing. Text block is sound except for loose quire mentioned previously. In protective mylar.
