Paperback. Condition: new. Hatala, Stephen (illustrator). Paperback. Gia the Golfer is a full-color children's picture book for ages 6-10 and the first title in a growing series that introduces young readers to the game of golf and the life lessons that surround it.When Gia discovers her grandfather's old golf clubs while cleaning out the attic with her mother, she feels inspired to try something new. As she learns the game, Gia builds confidence, patience, and resilience, guided by memories of her grandfather and the encouragement he left behind. Just before her first big tournament, the clubs mysteriously go missing, challenging Gia to trust herself and keep going.Through short, rhythmic verse and vibrant illustrations, Gia the Golfer gently explores themes of perseverance, remembrance, and believing in oneself. The story emphasizes representation and belonging, encouraging children, especially Black and Brown youth, to see themselves in spaces where they may not always feel included.Written by hip-hop artist and We Golf Now founder Chill Moody, Gia the Golfer reflects a commitment to creativity, community, and access. Through We Golf Now, Moody works to make the sport and business of golf more accessible to young people by creating inclusive entry points, mentorship opportunities, and culturally connected experiences.Designed for families, classrooms, and libraries, Gia the Golfer blends sport and storytelling to support social-emotional learning while inspiring young readers to try new things and keep going, one swing at a time. When Gia discovers her grandfather's old golf clubs, she embarks on a journey that builds confidence, patience, and self-belief. This item is printed on demand.
