A fantastic little 20th century edition of a local history of the Hamilton-Wentworth area as it was written in 1897, with a proliferation of ink & pencils sketches of tools, homes, village life and landscapes of the era. Very light green boards, black lettering. Printed on newsprint paper, browning included! Pages are excellent, no writing, creases, stains or tears. Even has fake foxing on the eps for effect. The Dj has heavy edge wear/wrinkling on edges with some small splits, bottom front has a 2" wrinkle and a tear to flap edge. Fingerprint size smudge on back cover, but faint. A little treasure of a book! None of my books are ex-library, remainders, or bce unless specified.

Pages are clean and binding is good. Dust Jacket has a couple of tiny tears and is very slightly rubbed. There is some vague wrinkling at top of dust jacket. Reprinted on the order of the Wentworth County Council as a Centennial project by the Ryerson Press. Presentation copy signed by some people whose names are pretty much unreadable. The handwriting looks the same, Dated June 12, 1980. Maybe Clifford Sheets and ?Anne Hamilton Jones? oh well, A presentation edition with 'The Regional Muncipality of Hamilton-Wentworth' gold sticker on first end paper. The authors fathers went back to the early nineteenth century and the pioneering of Canada West. Very nice illustrations throughout the book. 142 pp.

A fascinating guide to the history of Switzerland, from the discovery of early lake settlements to the Franco-German War, with information on how the country was affected by events in Europe, such as the Renaissance and the French Revolution. In a half calf binding. Externally, generally smart, with a little rubbing to the joints, extremities and head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
