Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. First Printing as confirmed by McBride. The book would be fine save for shelf wear along bottom of boards and text block, slight translucent spotting of front lower text block. Else book is free of internal marking, spine is tight, boards rigid and tips are pointed. While the jacket has its price on the back flap, it has general wear all over, loss and small chipping at most edges, especially along spine and at top and bottom of spine. Actually looks quite smart in its shiny new plastic cover. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping with a non-price listed purchase order inside along with biodegradable packing.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. This "G" book is solid with several noticeable flaws. It has a very slight lean, all corners are bumped with fabric damage, head and heel of spine are bumped with slight fraying; there is edge wear on the bottom edge of each board and color loss on the fore edge and top edge of each board. The interior has an inked inscription on the front paste down, an ink-stamped name on the FFEP along with a penciled 1894 inscription. There are numerous stains in the book, but few are in the text and those few are no inconvenience to reading. Rear spine is strong, front spine is tender--the bottom pulls away slightly from the book and there is a tear in the paper of the front pastedown there. But it is holding very well so far.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. The exterior of this VG- book is rather good: it is square, very clean, front panel illustration virtually undamaged (see photo). It does, however, have bumps to all four corners and fabric damage at the lower two corners; there is edge wear on the bottom edge and the head and heel of the spine are both bumped with fabric damage. The interior is almost perfect once you get to the title page. Before that, there is an inked name and address on the front paste down and the FFEP has been removed (see photo); and the paper is just starting to tear over the front hinge. After those flaws, the rest of the interior is virtually unaffected by its 13 decades of use--it is clean, unmarked, unstained, with strong hinges, numerous illustrations, and very flexible pages.
