Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Published in Moscow. Colophon entirely in Russian, thus date and publisher not entirely clear. English and Russian titles for works. Works included: Quattro for two trumpets and two trombones, Music for harpsichord and percussion instruments from M. Pekarsky's collection, Partita for cello, bajan-accordion and string orchestra, and last, Detto II for cello and instrument ensemble. Not much text, but most of it is Russian. Green paperback covers are somewhat worn and sl. torn at top and bottom of backstrip. Interior clean and unmarked--no stains or tears. Working copy, covers worn. Of interest because of Russian provenance. Unsure of date--possibly 1950's or 60's. Price on back cover 2 p. 10 k. (I think two rubles, 10 kopecks). Photo available on request.

In der Mitte der 1970er Jahre gründete Gubaidulina gemeinsam mit den Komponisten Viktor Suslin und Wjatscheslaw Artjomow das Ensemble Astreja, das auf Instrumenten der russischen Volksmusik improvisierte. In den sechziger und siebziger Jahren waren ihre Werke in der Sowjetunion verboten, weil ihre Musik nicht den Vorstellungen des Sozialistischen Realismus entsprach. Ihr Erfolg im Westen wurde vor allem vom Stargeiger Gidon Kremer (später auch von Reinbert de Leeuw) unterstützt, der ihr erstes Violinkonzert Offertorium 1981 uraufführte. Seitdem gehört Sofia Gubaidulina zusammen mit Alfred Schnittke und Edisson Denissow zu den führenden, weltweit anerkannten Komponisten Russlands der Ära nach Schostakowitsch.
