Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an in-depth exploration of the history of Upper Canada as a province from 1791 to 1813 and the pivotal role it played in the development of the Canadian federation. The author details the province's division, its inhabitants, the formation of counties and townships, and the importance of its geographical location to the development of major settlements and the fur trade. This book places Upper Canada within a broader context of British and Canadian history, showing how it served as a bridge between British rule and the establishment of self-governance in Canada. This meticulous work of scholarship offers valuable insights into the formative years of Upper Canada, its significance in the context of Canadian history, and the broader forces that shaped its development. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
