La presenza di numerose opere di Craffonara nelle raccolte del Castello del Buonconsiglio, fra le quali i disegni preparatori per la serie di incisioni, consentono infatti di focalizzare lo sguardo sull'atelier dell'artista fra Roma e Riva del Garda, nella concretezza della prassi artistica, all'incontro fra modelli ideali e pratica operativa.
