This book focuses on two techniques that belong to an active research area known as Physical Layer Security (PLS). While the underlying techniques of PLS have been known for some time, the potential secrecy benefits of them need further investigation. The first PLS technique considered in this thesis is that of beamforming which is made possible using Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) multi-antenna systems. Here a sender can focus the information signal in the direction of the intended receiver while reducing the quality of the signal observed by a potential eavesdropper. In addition to beamforming, the technique of artificial noise (AN) is also investigated. AN requires the sender to generate a random noise signal in addition to the information signal to further degrade an eavesdropper's ability to detect and decode the information signal being directed to the intended receiver. 64 pp. Englisch.

Aunque las técnicas subyacentes de PLS se conocen desde hace algún tiempo, es necesario investigar más a fondo sus posibles ventajas para el secreto. La primera técnica PLS que se estudia en esta tesis es la de formación de haces, posible gracias a los sistemas multiantena de entrada múltiple y salida múltiple (MIMO). En este caso, un emisor puede enfocar la señal de información en la dirección del receptor previsto, reduciendo al mismo tiempo la calidad de la señal observada por un posible fisgón. Además de la formación de haces, también se investiga la técnica del ruido artificial (AN). El ruido artificial requiere que el emisor genere una señal de ruido aleatoria además de la señal de información para degradar aún más la capacidad de un fisgón de detectar y descodificar la señal de información dirigida al receptor previsto. 56 pp. Spanisch.
