Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First edition. A couple of spots of foxing to the foredge, still easily fine in an attractive, fine dust jacket with a couple of very small tears and tiny nicks. A lovely copy of the true first edition of a novel set in Sydney, Australia in the 1830s, where a young Irishman takes up with a strange household. Basis for the atypical 1949 Alfred Hitchcock film featuring Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotten, and Michael Wilding. Simpson co-wrote the novel *Enter Sir John*, also filmed by Hitchcock, and she wrote the dialogue for his films *Sabotage* and *Murder*. Very scarce, and exceptionally so in this condition.
