unknown_binding. Condition: Used-Very Good. Second, revised edition with additional plates. Quarto, vi 189 pp. 16 plates (14 of which are folding), several text illustrations. Frontispiece. Original blind embossed brown cloth, which has been nicely rebacked. Some minor bumping to extremities; some foxing throughout with a small old water stain in the upper inner margin of the plates. Overall, a very sound copy.

Halbleder. Condition: Gut. XII, 72, 32, 24, 70 S., 152 Tafeln (Tafel 77 fehlt: Comet locomotive engine),). Gr.Fol. goldgeprägtes Orig.- Halbleder. Sprache: Englisch, Die Tafel Comet locomotive engine fehlt. Einband berieben, bestoßen und etwas fleckig; kleiner Einkleber auf dem Innendeckel; fliegendes Vorsatzblatt, Schmutz- und Titelblatt gestempelt; durchgehender alter Wasserfleck/-rand oben innen - weiter hinten sich etwas nach unten ausbreitend, schwach auf den Textblättern, deutlicher und dunkler auf den Tafeln (wegen des unterschiedlichen Papiers - aber keine aktuelle Schimmelbildung); einige Tafeln leicht bis mäßig randbeschädigt; manche Lagen gelockert / ungleichmäßig eingebunden; insgesamt ist dieses epochemachendes Werk trotz der beschriebenen Schäden allein durch seine imposante Größe und die Fülle der Tafeln als Beleg-Exemplar wohl geeignet.
