Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the practices of commercial vegetable and fruit growers, particularly their use of stable manure and chemical fertilizers. The author investigated the efficiency of large-scale purchased stable manure, which is expensive and shows diminishing returns, and whether it can be partially replaced by less expensive chemical fertilizers. Over eighteen years of research, the author conducted numerous experiments in vegetable and fruit crop production to compare the results of applying stable manure alone, chemical fertilizers alone, and a combination of both. The results of each method were recorded, including the weight of the crop at harvest. The book details these experiments, their results, and a series of recommendations for the most cost-effective cultivation of various types of vegetables and fruits. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
