Clara Schumanns Lebensgeschichte ist einzigartig. Sie ist eine der wenigen Frauen im 19. Jahrhundert, der Emanzipation von männlicher Vormundschaft und ein selbstbestimmtes Leben gelingen. Als Konzertpianistin steigt sie zur internationalen Musikelite auf und absolviert Auftritte in ganz Europa. Nach wechselvollen Ehejahren zieht es sie vermehrt nach London. Anfänglich ausgegrenzt und von der Queen missachtet, wird sie zum gefeierten Klassikstar und gibt Konzerte vor bis zu 2.000 Zuhörern. Das weltbekannte Märchenballett von Peter Tschaikowski (1840-1893), am 18. Dezember 1892 in Sankt Petersburg uraufgeführt, basiert auf einer Erzählung von E.T.A. Hoffmann und wird mit Spannung und Witz für Kinder ab fünf Jahren von Bert Alexander Petzold neu erzählt. Klara bekommt von ihrem geheimnisvollen Patenonkel Drosselmeyer am Weihnachtsabend einen schönen Nussknacker geschenkt. In der folgenden Nacht hat sie einen merkwürdigen Traum: Spielzeugsoldaten und Nussknacker kämpfen gegen das Heer des bösen Mausekönigs. Als dieser besiegt ist, verwandelt sich der Nussknacker in einen hübschen Prinzen. Beide geraten in einen heftigen Schneesturm und flüchten ins Schloss Konfektenburg, in dem die Zuckerfee ein herrlich süßes Fest mit vielen Tänzen feiert. Die fröhliche Fantasie des Komponisten Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) wird für Kinder ab fünf Jahren von Bert Alexander Petzold neu erzählt. Mit freudigem Brüllen eröffnet der Löwe das Musikspektakel, das Eichhörnchen schwingt als Dirigent den Taktstock und die Hühner können es kaum erwarten, ihren einstudierten »Gesang« vorzutragen. Fröhliche Ballettmusik lässt Elefant und Schildkröten das Tanzbein schwingen. Äußerst taktvoll ist die lustige Hüpfeinlage der Kängurus. Die Leoparden brillieren wie jedes Jahr als Pianisten. Tapfer ertragen die Gäste Vogelgezeter und schrilles Getriller der Flöten. Am Abend feiern alle Tiere gemeinsam ein buntes Sommerfest. Die Lebensgeschichte von George Gershwin (1898-1937) Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in Brooklyn/New York erzählt Bert Alexander Petzold erstmals für Kinder ab fünf Jahren. Mit »Rhapsody in Blue« hat der auf Musicals spezialisierte Broadwaykomponist George Gershwin mit traditionellen Klängen gebrochen und spielerisch Blues, Jazz und klassische Musik ineinanderfließen lassen. Zur Uraufführung am 12. Februar 1924 in New York spielte er das in lediglich fünf Wochen komponiert Stück am Klavier selbst, denn es gab keine vollständige Partitur. George und sein Bruder Ira Gershwin hatten den Konzertabend als »Ein Experiment in moderner Musik« ankündigen lassen. Anwesende Komponisten wie Igor Strawinsky und Sergei Rachmaninow waren begeistert. 20 pp. Deutsch.
