Paul and Virginia contains 109 pages and ends with the original sad ending. There is a b/w etching of Paul and Virginia on the frontispiece. There is also a Memoir of Bernardin de Saint Pierre written by Sarah Jones. The History of Rasselas contains 98 pages. The Vicar of Wakefield contains 152 pages. The condition of the book is near fine. The pages are all free of marks but three of the pages at the end of the book have been torn and mended. There is an inscription Presented by Teacher R. J. Shull to Frank Reid Dewitt, Dec. 25, 1889. The brown and black embossed cover is beautiful and is imprinted with the raised lettering "May Blessings be upon the head of Cadmus, the Phoenicians, or whoever it was that invented BOOKS" Thos Carlyle.
