Tiny bits of paper missing at spine ends. A little faint browning to title and contents pages but only an occasional spot elsewhere. Hinges sound. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Two authors have written eight SHORT stories about the merits and bravery of boys in the scouting movement. 96 pages with b/w decorative drawings interspersed. Stories are set in German East Africa, Scotland, England and Canada. One story talks about the Great War. Adventu…re icludes tracking criminals, rescuing a child from a fire and scouting out enemy positions. Cond : Issued w/o dust jacket (??)). Pictorial boards show a scoutmaster and 3 scouts of different ranks around a campfire. The scoutmaster is kilted. Spine and back cover are also pictorial. Spine fine but edges chipped. Two back corners are very soft. Light soiling throughout. Binding is VG but split at p. 32. Two large scuffs on back cover. P/O inscr. on verso front cover. No marks, creases, stains, folds, nor tears. Almost giftable !! Quote (p. 14) : " . wriggled flat on his stomach across the open to where the mast stood. In a second his clasp-knife was out and open. He sprang to his feet, severed the halliyards, and snatched the Union Jack as it came fluttering down. Then he knotted it about . ." Size: 12mo. A. B. White (illustrator).
