Se trata del Tomo II del Dizionario di agricoltura, o sia La coltivazione italiana, obra compilada por Ignazio Ronconi Fiorentino a partir de observaciones prácticas sobre el cultivo, la conservación de productos rurales y el gobierno de la vida agrícola. El interés de este volumen excede el simple dato bibliográfico. Es una pieza representativa del saber agronómico europeo del siglo XVIII, cuando la agricultura comenzaba a organizarse en forma de diccionarios, repertorios técnicos y manuales de consulta destinados a propietarios rurales, cultivadores, estudiosos y administradores de campo. En sus páginas aparecen conocimientos sobre huertas, viñas, jardines, árboles, semillas, animales de cría, abejas, gusanos de seda, enfermedades rurales, remedios, medidas antiguas y prácticas de conservación. Las fotografías permiten apreciar entradas dedicadas al orto, la zucca y otros términos agrícolas, además de una tabla comparativa de medidas usadas en distintas ciudades italianas. Ese detalle vuelve al ejemplar especialmente atractivo para coleccionistas de historia de la agricultura, historia de la alimentación, viticultura, apicultura, botánica aplicada y cultura material del Settecento. No es un libro común ni decorativo sin contenido: es un testimonio directo de la economía rural italiana anterior a la agricultura mecanizada moderna. Conserva el encanto material del libro antiguo, con papel de época, tipografía de imprenta manual, viñetas ornamentales y el desgaste propio de un objeto que ha atravesado más de dos siglos y medio. Importante: se ofrece como Tomo II suelto, no como obra completa. Su valor reside en la antigüedad, la materia agrícola, la impresión veneciana de 1771 y su condición de documento técnico del siglo XVIII.
