Engraved by Robert West who was active between 1736-1739. Lettering that shows through from the reverse side of the image suggests it came from William Maitland's…History of London. This precedes a later publication, The History and Survey of London, by the same author in1756. I have not removed the engraving from it's frame but suspect the page has been cut to fit. Size of engraved part of image: 19.7 x 36 cms. Size of whole: 23.2 x 37 cms. Condition: Very Good. The paper is very lightly foxed at the base. There is writing in pencil at the bottom right hand corner. The engraving is otherwise clean. The frame, whilst old, is not as old as the print. William Henry. Robert West. (illustrator).
