The best introduction to the photographic art and achievement of Robert Stiegler for our time. The first and only edition. Published in a small and limited print run as a softcover original only. None of the copies was commercially sold. There is no ISBN. The Exhibition Catalog is now scarce. A brilliant production by Stephen Daiter Gallery: Oversize-volume format. Pictorial softcovers with white titles on the cover, as issued. Photographs and Brief Afterword by Robert Stiegler. Essays by Stephen Daiter and Wayne Boyer. Printed on pristine-white, very thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is outstanding in every respect, one of the best books ever published by Stephen Daiter Gallery. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the landmark retrospective exhibition by Stephen Daiter Gallery Chicago in 2022. Presents "Robert Stiegler: Photographs". His ground-breaking, masterly work, captured in one handsome volume. It is formally rigorous yet highly experimental work whose underlying, near-obsessive thread is the complex interaction between light and shadow, particularly its infinite possibilities. Stiegler received his Bachelor's Degree in 1960 and his Master's Degree in 1970 from the Institute of Design (ID), where he studied under Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind. He was part of a now-iconic group of photographers who include Barbara Crane, Kenneth Josephson, Tom Rago, and Richard Nickel. Robert Stiegler died before his time in 1990 at the age of fifty-two. So it's a blessing that his work is in the Permanent Collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the George Eastman House, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago, and the University of Illinois Chicago. An absolute "must-have" title for Robert Stiegler collectors. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: This is the best introduction to Robert Stiegler's work. None of the limited number of copies was sold commercially. A scarce copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with black-and-white plates. One of the most brilliant American photographers of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER INSTITUTE OF DESIGN PHOTOGRAPHERS IN OUR CATALOG). no.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - These essays have been written to honor W. W. Bledsoe, a scientist who has contributed to such diverse fields as mathematics, systems analysis, pattern recognition, biology, artificial intelligence, and automated reasoning. The first essay provides a sketch of his life, emphasizing his scientific contributions. The diversity of the fields to which Bledsoe has contributed is reflected in the range of the other essays, which are original scientific contributions by some of his many friends and colleagues. Bledsoe is a founding father of the field of automated reasoning, and a majority of the essays are on that topic. These essays are collected together here not only to acknowledge Bledsoe's manifold and substantial scientific contributions but also to express our appreciation for the great care and energy that he has devoted to nurturing many of the scientists working in those scientific fields he has helped found. Robert S. Boyer Austin February, 1991 ix Acknow ledgements Thanks to Larry Wos, editor of the Journal of Automated Reasoning, and Derek Middleton and Martin Scrivener, Kluwer Academic editors, for sup porting the idea of initiating this collection of essays.
