Magazine. Condition: Good. First Edition. There is some light discolouration to the covers around the staples which are rusty. Small blue stain to the bottom corner of the back cover. The spine has a little chipping to the surface with small pieces missing at the top and bottom and one inch closed tears on either side at the top and a smaller tear at the bottom. The covers are detached from the text block. The pages are browned around the edges with spotting to the first and last pages and to the edges but are otherwise unmarked. The joints are split & there is a piece out of the head of the spine. 104 pages plus 4 blanks headed "Memoranda". 12 plates illustrated or decorated in color by J. McNeill Whistler, Joseph Pennell and others. The pastedowns & endpapers are stained & foxed & there is light foxing to the fore-edge & bottom edges with occasional foxing or soiling elsewhere in the book. The plates are clean & bright. Good. First edition.A beautifully illustrated book of essays, most of them revolving around the Savoy Hotel and Claridges. In the rear are lists of the hotels' amenities and prices, with useful information for tourists on consulate, banks, etc. There is a brief, illustrated piece about the semi-feral cats that live in the Savoy's basement.…
