Condition: Good. - Small quarto [approximately 8-3/4 inches high by 6-5/8 inches wide], pictorial paper covered boards. The binding is rubbed, soiled & bumped. The joints are split & there is a piece out of the head of the spine. 104 pages plus 4 blanks headed "Memoranda". 12 plates illustrated or decorated in color by J. McNeill Whistler, Joseph Pennell and others. The pastedowns & endpapers are stained & foxed & there is light foxing to the fore-edge & bottom edges with occasional foxing or soiling elsewhere in the book. The plates are clean & bright. Good. First edition.A beautifully illustrated book of essays, most of them revolving around the Savoy Hotel and Claridges. In the rear are lists of the hotels' amenities and prices, with useful information for tourists on consulate, banks, etc. There is a brief, illustrated piece about the semi-feral cats that live in the Savoy's basement.
