Ricardo Semler ist einer von ihnen. Anfang der 80er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts übernahm er in Brasilien die Firma Semco von seinem Vater. Ein traditionelles Unternehmen, das sich der Produktion von Schiffsschrauben und ähnlichem widmet. Große Fabriken mit vielen Arbeiter*innen an unterschiedlichen Standorten, internationale Handelsbeziehungen sind Alltag in der Führungsetage. Ricardo Semler erzählt in dem 1993 erschienen Buch sehr persönlich wie er auf die Idee gekommen ist, sein Unternehmen zu verändern. Er schildert wie schwer es war Verbündete zu finden, wie viele Rückschritte und Verluste es gegeben hat, wie er angegriffen worden ist, für seine wahnsinnigen Ideen, das Management der Fabriken in die Hände jener zu geben die dort arbeiten. Das Buch ist weder ein Management- noch ein Wirtschaftsbuch, sondern die spannende und menschliche Geschichte eines Unternehmers, der sein Unternehmen transformiert um mit einer revolutionär demokratischen Organisationsform humaner und produktiver zu werden. Ich habe schon diverse Bücher gelesen, die von neuen oder modernen "Führungsstilen" oder "Modellen" handeln. Dieses Buch habe ich verschlungen, insbesondere aufgrund der Praxisnähe. Theorie und Realität sind immer zwei verschiedene Welten, doch in diesem Buch erlebt der interessierte Leser hautnah die Fragestellungen, die Entwicklungen und die gefundenen Lösungen. Dieses Buch empfehle ich jedem meiner Klienten, denn dies ist ein Handbuch für "Macher", die die moderne Zukunft aktiv in die Hand nehmen wollen und wirklich etwas nachhaltig! entwickeln/verändern bzw. bewegen wollen. Habe das Buch über einen Bekannten erhalten - leider nur leihweise - und war begeistert. Andere sagen: Diese Führungsphilosophie ist in Deutschland nicht umsetzbar. Da bin ich anderer Meinung. Große Teile dieses Führungsstils sind auch hier anwendbar, es ist aber ein gewisses Menschen-/Mitarbeiterbild erforderlich, dass nicht überall verbreitet ist. Mein Fazit: Unbedingt empfehlenswert für hochrangige Führungskräfte, die wirklich Mitarbeiter- und Zielorientiert führen wollen.
