A partir de este claro posicionamiento, el libro propone como urgente tarea de la intelectualidad latinoamericana postular escenarios más allá de los imperialismos actuales. Esto permitirá recuperar la lucha utópica desde la que diseñar sin falsas promesas ni ánimo complaciente el mundo por venir. Postimperialismo se presenta como una invitación crítica al reconocimiento de diferentes cosmopolíticas, cuya articulación en red es fundamental para construir discursos y políticas contrahegemónicas a la globalización capitalista. Así, se propone dibujar nuevos mapas cognitivos que permitan rescatar visiones alejadas de las ortodoxias dominantes. Porque necesitamos comprender el mundo para actuar mejor en él, porque debemos estimular nuestra imaginación crítica para transformar el futuro, Postimperialismo es una lectura obligatoria. Gustavo Lins Ribeiro es profesor del Departamento de Antropología de la Universidad de Brasilia. Doctor en Antropología por la City University of New York, ha enseñado en varios centros académicos de América latina y Estados Unidos. Es uno de los antropólogos brasileños más reconocidos y autor de numerosas publicaciones en su especialidad, entre ellos el libro Capitalismo transnacional y política hidroenergética en la Argentin a.
