Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Theorists learned basic lessons regarding airpower's potential during World War I, but much of the real intellectual progress occurred during the interwar period. The history of space power development is similar in many ways. Space power began after World War II, but its first significant…warfighting use was in the 1991 Gulf War with Iraq. During the next 12 years, space power increasingly became a warfighting capability, and consequently doctrine and practice changed dramatically in order to facilitate air and space integration within the Air Force. This research study analyzes the similarities and differences between central airpower lessons learned between World Wars I and II with those of space power since the Gulf War. An analysis of space power doctrine development is necessary to appreciate why today's doctrine is how it is. However, this is not a discussion on the doctrine development process, per se. This research queries whether central airpower concepts (including unity of command, uniqueness, and desire for command by an airman) are applicable to space power.
