Internally, red endpapers, pencil note explaining the EXTRA 16 fine pen and ink views on 16 leafs by Walter Cooper Denby to fep, all of which have the page No that they relate to, with his initials dated 1848, title page with vignette, (xxiii), [1] blank, [16] leaves of plates, 640 pp, 46 illustrations, small embossed lib stamp to ep (Neatham Mill Library TW), text block edges in gilt, preface signed IJB with a pencil notes explaining that this was Edward Turner Bennetts brother who edited this after the death of his brother, printed by C Whittingham at the Chiswick Press, the sixth edition? Dendy was a President of the Medical Society of London. He published a treatise on dreams and spectral manifestations in 1841 entitled Philosophy of Mystery, amongst a number of other works, often illustrated by himself. (Allibone 2684.
