Also 5 illustrations within the text. Volume two: limitation page, [iii], (i), xii, 602pp plus 6 tissue guarded plates and a folding plan of Northampton in the rear pocket. Preface by The Lord Bishop of London. Introductory chaper by W. Ryland D. Adkins. Christopher Markham edited the first volume and Charles Cox the second. Many of the pages in both volumes remain uncut to the edge - ie have never been opened! One top corner of each volume worn. Soundly bound. Contents VG, but as often with vellum bindings the vellum is rather discoloured - so exterior only rated Good. Nb combined weight pre-packing over 4kg, so expensive to post overseas.

Three volumes in the publisher's original cloth bindings. Volume III contains eight black and white plates. Volume VI contains nine black and white plates. Volume XIV contains ten black and white plates. All volumes contain numerous in-text illustrations. Collated, complete. Volume III, VI and XIV of the New Series of this quarterly journal and review, The Reliquary and Illustrated Archaeologist, devoted to the study of the early Pagan and Christian antiquities of Britain; Medieval architecture and ecclesiology; the development of the arts and industries of mankind in past times; and the survivals of ancient usages and appliances in the present. Volume III (1897) and VI (1900) were edited by J. Romilly Allen (1847-1907), a British archaeologist particularly interested in the antiquities of Wales and Scotland. Volume XIV (1908) is a presentation copy, and was edited by Rev. J. Charles Cox (1843-1919), an English cleric and local historian. Articles include: The Stourhead Collection in the Wiltshire Archaeological Society's Museum at Devizes by E. H. Goddard; The Evolution of the Textile Industries by J. Romilly Allen; and The "Treasure of Sant' Antonio" in Padua by Robert W. Carden. In each volume are notices of new books. In the publisher's original cloth bindings.
