Hardcover, original dark brown cloth with blind-embossed decoration on front and back covers, 392 pages, frontis engraving of Wesley, "I have endeavored, in the following pages, to present an accurate and vivid sketch of the life, times, and character of Wesley and his eminent coadjutors," the cloth is completely worn away from the spine but the covers are holding nicely and the binding is still tight, the blank front end-paper has been removed and the former owner's name is present along with an ownership label, there is some light foxing on the frontis engraving but the text is clean.
