Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the relationship between the nature of the subsoil and the distribution of plants, examining whether root systems selectively absorb certain elements from the soil. The author, a respected scientist, draws upon experiments and research to demonstrate that plant life can indeed choose specific elements over others, and that these elements are essential for the plant's survival. Through detailed botanical studies, the book delves into the unique characteristics of different plant species and their adaptations to various soil compositions. This groundbreaking work enhances our understanding of the intricate relationship between plants and their environment, providing valuable insights for advancements in agriculture, ecology, and other related fields. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Couverture souple. Condition: Bon. Edition originale.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is an 1875 study of anesthesia, the loss of sensation, stemming from brain issues rather than trauma. The author surveys a range of conditions that may cause this symptom, including strokes, tumors, and poisonings, exploring both their clinical and physiological implications. The author describes how anesthesia can be localized to particular areas of the body, providing valuable insights into the functioning of different brain regions. This study provides a comprehensive account of a crucial neurological phenomenon, offering insights into the complex relationship between the brain and the body's sensory experiences.
