Augustin Reding von Biberegg (1625-1692), Lehrer für Philosophie und Professor der Theologie, ab 1670 Abt des Benediktinerstifts Einsiedeln. ?Wie das Vorleben des Abtes durch seine gelehrte Wirksamkeit gekennzeichnet ist, so auch seine Regierungszeit. [.] Zunächst erschienen einige polemische Schriften, so gegen den Zürcher Heidegger, der die Fahrtpredigt des Abtes zu Näfels, 18. April 1675, angriff; Heidegger hatte übrigens schon 1669 eine Kontroverse mit Reding gehabt wegen der Wallfahrt nach Einsiedeln. Gegen ihn und den Prädikanten [Johann Jakob] Vedrosi in Chur richtete sich ebenfalls 1670 eine Schrift. Auf Ersuchen des Nuntius Cybo [i.e. Odoardo Cibo, s. HLS] schrieb er auch gegen Heidegger seine Verteidigung des Konzils von Trient, die von 1677 bis 1684 in drei [recte: fünf] Foliobänden erschien.? (etc.; PB 131). - Johann Heinrich Heidegger (Bäretswil 1633-1698 Zürich), Theologe, u.a. Mitarbeiter von Johann Heinrich Hottinger, dessen Nachfolge als Professor für Exegese und Dogmatik in Zürich er 1667 antrat. ?Mit Heidegger erreichte die Zürcher reformierte Spätorthodoxie ihren Höhepunkt. [Er] vertrat die altreformierte, von Johannes Coccejus weiterentwickelte Föderalmethode [.].
