This is the second printing of the first edition, published in 1975. The square format hardcover is bound in cream linen cloth covered boards with sharp corners and spine ends. The spine is solid, with no loose pages, and all 192 pages are crisp, clean, secure and no markings. Secretariats name is embossed on the front board, with a royal blue title on the spine. The dust jacket shows slight age related coloration, as expected for a book of this age, along with minor tears near the top of the back. A richly illustrated biography of Secretariat, the legendary racehorse known as the Horse of the Century. This volume follows his life, racing career, and the unforgettable 1973 Triple Crown victory through photographs and stories celebrating one of the greatest champions in horse racing history. An excellent photographic history of the famous Big Red, whose ownership was famously decided by a coin toss that changed the fortunes of the Chenery, or Tweedy, family of The Meadows Farm in Virginia.
