Original Illustrated Hardback. Condition: Very Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Fritz Wegner (illustrator). First Edition Thus. 1967. First edition thus. 64pp. and many black and white illustrations within the text. Rudolf Erich Raspe (1737-1794) was a German scientist, antiquarian and writer. He came to England (in order to avoid imprisonment), where he became a member of the Royal Society, until he was expelled from it. He turned to writing, and is remembered today the the author of 'Munchausen'. The adventures of Baron Munchausen are probably the most incredible of all travellers' tales. First published in 1785, the stories have been revised and added to by various authors over the years. The stories in this selection have been shortened for young readers by Janet Barber, and illustrated by her husband, Fritz Wegner. The book is bound in the original illustrated cloth covered boards. The book is in very good + condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper is very good with shelf wear and soiling and a few small stains. The spine ends and corners are lightly bumped with some small nicks.
