Each new gold/precious metal strike lured saloon men, room keepers, small merchants and rea l estate promoters. A shack and shanty mining town was born but the prospectors moved on. On the front cover is "The Descent" in Marble Canyon. On pack is "The Prospector" Bot etchings are adaptations of Death Valley photos taken in about 1906. Book.
