Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. 1887 edition published by Christian Board of Publication (St. Louis, MO). This comes with a letter from C. D. Pantle, General Manager of Christian Board of Publication, 2700 Pine Blvd, St. Louis 3, MO typed and hand signed. That letter is dated September 24, 1946 and is addressed to Mr. Thomas McKee i…n Dallas, TX. Mr. Pantel tells Mr. McKee in this letter than this volume was sold out some time ago and the plates on it were destroyed "because it was then our opinion that the demand for the book was not sufficient to justify considering a further reprint". I find that humorous because today some religions are STILL debating the Catholic church. Nevertheless, he is sending Mr. McKee their only copy of the book. That letter is taped to the inside front end paper of the book. The book is a dark bluish teal color buckram hardback with bright gilt titling on the spint. The cover has some every so slight shelf wear. The interior is clean but does have some underlining in pencil on a couple of pages. Overall intact and somewhat scarce to fine an original copy from the 19th century like this one. BR (Shelf 316).
