T. - Prausnitz, (1861 - 1933), studierte Medizin in Heidelberg, Leipzig, Freiburg/Breisgau und München, wo er 1885 mit der Dissertation Zur pathologischen Pigmentierung promoviert wurde, war Assistent am P…athologisch-Anatomischen Institut in München, am Hygienischen Institut in Göttingen sowie am Physiologischen Institut in München und habilitierte sich hier 1890 an der Univ. sowie an der TH für Hygiene. Seit 1893 a.o.Prof. der Hygiene und Vorstand des Hygiene-Instituts in Graz, wurde er 1899 Ordinarius und errichtete 1906 an seinem Institut die erste bakteriologische Untersuchungsstelle der österreichisch-ungarischen Monarchie. 1919 wurde er zum Hofrat ernannt. Prausnitz befaßte sich vor allem mit ernährungsphysiologischen Studien und Untersuchungen über Säuglingssterblichkeit, Wohnungsfragen und Stadthygiene und veröffentlichte u.a. Grundzüge der Hygiene (1892). (DBE) - Moeller, (1848 - 1924), studierte an der Univ. Wien Medizin, wurde 1873 promoviert und war Assistent am Pharmakologischen Institut. 1876 wurde er Lehrer an der Handelsakademie und war 1876-86 als Adjunkt an der Forstlichen Versuchsanstalt Mariabrunn tätig. 1884 habilitiert, wurde Moeller 1886 o.Prof. an der Univ. Wien und 1893 an der Univ. Innsbruck. 1908 kehrte er als o.Prof. der Pharmakognosie an die Univ. Wien zurück, wo er bis zu seiner Emeritierung 1916 blieb. Moeller erwarb sich insbesondere auf den Gebieten der Pharmakognosie, der Lebensmittel- und technischen Warenkunde Verdienste. Er veröffentlichte u.a. Vergleichende Anatomie der Baumrinden (1882) und Mikroskopie der Nahrungs- und Genußmittel aus dem Pflanzenreich (1885). M. war korrespondierendes Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien. (DBE).
