Originariamente frutto del sodalizio intellettuale tra il filosofo e psicoanalista Romano Màdera e l'amico e collega Luigi Vero Tarca alla fine degli anni Novanta in quel dell'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia, dal 2005 a oggi essi hanno luogo annualmente presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Umane per la Formazione "R. Massa" della seconda università milanese, su iniziativa dei docenti, dei ricercatori e dei collaboratori del locale gruppo di Filosofia morale in collaborazione con l'Associazione Philo-Pratiche filosofiche. Più puntualmente, il libro è un risultato collettivo di una pratica filosofica specifica, la lectio philosophica, guidata da diversi praticanti, su un tema che impatta direttamente con la tremenda e dolorosa questione della vita di tutti dentro le strutture storico-sociali del nostro mondo: quello della giustizia. I brevi testi (filosofici, letterari e pedagogici) letti durante il seminario sono riportati integralmente e, a partire da ciascuno di essi, vengono sviluppate alcune considerazioni e riflessioni, più o meno esplicitamente intrecciate a e intessute da quanto è emerso dai partecipanti agli incontri e dallo scambio di gruppo.
