It departs from traditional approaches focused on short-term task optimization and introduces a framework that centers on the dynamic relationship between activity, learning, organizational transformation, and long-term well-being. The volume is structured in two parts. The first addresses the resources and structural conditions that support development, while the second examines the dynamic processes and methodological tools that promote it. The chapters in the first part deal with how professional activity is not merely shaped by the organization but is itself an agent of organizational transformation. This includes the development of skills at individual and collective levels, the psychosocial dimensions of work, the transformation of working time structures, and the cultivation of activity as a performance and health resource. Several chapters trace how reflective practice and experiential knowledge - acquired through confrontation with real work situations - lead to expanded operational leeway, professional identity consolidation, and preservation of health. The notion of enabling environments, derived partly from Amartya Sen's capabilities theory, is discussed not only as a preventive measure but also as a platform for constructing autonomy and efficacy in the workplace. The second section explores how ergonomics interventions can themselves serve as drivers of development. Chapters address participatory design, co-construction of work practices, and the use of artifacts and simulations as tools for mutual learning between designers and users.
