Peter Häring (1953-2011) war ein bedeutender fränkischer Maler und Grafiker, dessen künstlerische Laufbahn von handwerklicher P…erfektion und einer eigenständigen Bildsprache geprägt war. Nach einer Ausbildung zum Farblithographen studierte er an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nürnberg bei Professor C. Fischer, wurde 1978 Meisterschüler und erhielt bereits 1979 den Akademiepreis ars mundi . Seine frühe Anerkennung manifestierte sich im Kulturförderpreis der Stadt Fürth 1981. Härings Werk zeichnete sich durch eine bemerkenswerte Vielfalt aus, die Pastelle, Öl auf Leinwand, Gouache, Lithographien und Holzschnitte umfasste Nordbayern . Seine künstlerische Heimat fand er in Frankreich, insbesondere in der Provence, wo er sich von Meistern wie Paul Cézanne inspirieren ließ. Die grafische Durchdringung der Dinge war ihm ein wesentliches Anliegen nicht die oberflächliche Darstellung von Gegenständen, sondern das Wesen der Dinge stand im Mittelpunkt. Seine Arbeiten, die unter dem Titel Polyphonie" zusammengefasst wurden, bedienten sich musikalischer Prinzipien: Form wurde zum Rhythmus, Farbe zur Melodie. Parallel zu seiner freischaffenden Tätigkeit unterrichtete Häring manuelle Drucktechniken an der Staatlichen Fachoberschule in Nürnberg und lebte zeitweise auf einem Bauernhof in Finnland, wo er Ruhe und Inspiration fand.
