Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Helen G Bunnell who attended Solomon High School in Solomon, Kansas. She graduated in 1920. Book size about 6 by 9 inches. Bound in tan cloth over boards with front cover gilt lettering and image of a young woman--decorated spine. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. First page has a photo of the 17 member Senior Class followed by 16 photos two to a page--most with captions. Students apparently used printed calling cards in those days and one enterprising young man's card states that he does 'Monkey Kissing - Bear Hugging' with no helpers. Also pages hand written by classmates, friends and teachers. Several pieces of school related material laid-in or glued on. Interestingly, Miss Bunnell listed her classmates and noted what had happened to them since graduation. I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the 1920's was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'. Mouse nibbling to rear cover bottom tip; usual wear and tear from constant handling while being assembled. GOOD Language: eng Language: eng Language: eng. Signed by Author.…

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Veda L Carnes who attended New Salem High School in New Salem, North Dakota. She graduated in 1923. Book size about 6 by 9 inches. Bound in tan cloth over boards with front cover gilt lettering and image of a young woman. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. This is an unusual example of the type in that the student filled-in the book during her high school graduation year and then continued on with additional entries into the 1940's. She apparently became a teacher and there are entries here from her pupils, one of which today would probably get the child thrown out of school for racism. Many hand written entries from classmates and relatives and even three pages of cartoons, two of U. S. Geological Survey crew members along with their names and addresses. The book is filled with hand written entries and a very minimum of memorabilia I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. Hardcover. 190 pages. 23.5 x 15.5 cm. A momentous moment in this young woman life - Sarah Marie Inwood (1896-1987) - her High School Graduation in 1914; the innocence will be broken in a few months as WWI begins in June. The scrapbook contains black and white photographs of friends and fellow graduates, autographs, black and white photos and autographs of the teachers along with a black and white photo of the school, a handwritten narrative of the Commencement Exercises, a handwritten narrative of the Commencement Program and the Class Play, and laid in - twenty-three printed calling cards - with Ralph L. Clemmons writing: "I hearby state that a state of war exists and has existed between us by your own act since the 19th of April 1914 Prepare for Warfare or Wield for the love of Mike Amen."Census records show Sarah Marie worked for the First National Bank for several years and married a local fellow, Fred Harriman, in December, 1925. The couple eventually moved to St. Louis, Missouri but were buried back home in Nevada, Missouri. Interior clean, boards lightly soiled, outercase in two pieces. Illustrated, embossed boards. Very good, in good case.…

Contains many inscriptions to Flodnig in 1917, among them a four-line inscription by Margaret Mitchell, author of *Gone With the Wind*, on page 44 (appropriating Gellett Burgess's famous poem): "I never saw a purple cow, I never hope to see one, I'll tell you one thing anyhow, I'd rather see than be one! (No nominations [?] Ha! Ha!) Margaret Mitchell." In 1918 Mitchell graduated from Washington Seminary in Atlanta, and presumably Flodnig was a classmate. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -This book summarizes naturally occurring and designed bio-inspired molecular building blocks assembled into nanoscale structures. It covers a fascinating array of biomimetic and bioinspired materials, including inorganic nanozymes, structures formed by DNA origami, a wide range of peptide and protein-based nanomaterials, as well as their applications in diagnostics and therapeutics. The book elucidates the mechanism of assembly of these materials and characterisation of their mechanical and physico-chemical properties which inspires readers not only to exploit the potential applications of nanomaterials, but also to understand their potential risks and benefits. It will be of interest to a broad audience of students and researchers spanning the disciplines of biology, chemistry, engineering, materials science, and physics. 448 pp. Englisch. …
