In quite good blue bevel edged cloth boards, black titles and sea creature and floral motif to front. The covers are fairly clean; a little wobbly from cracked hinge; edge-worn, corners bumped and frayed. The rear free end paper is marked, the front end papers are lightly marked, with names of previous owners; the centre is split and shows the webbing.Dark tinted top cut edge; the fore and tail edges are slightly tanned. The text block is in very good condition for age; with tightly bound pages, straight and only very lightly tanned on most page edges. With 435 beautiful b/w illustrations. Publisher's list to rear.
