Scarce signed etching from a watercolour painted by Paul Emile Lecomte (1877-1950). Under glass in a gilt frame. Signed in pencil to lower right. In excellent condition. Numbered. Born in Paris, Lecomte was the son of renowned landscape painter Paul Lecomte. Paul Emile studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under portraitist and history painter Fernand Cormon; his works were often featured in prestigious galleries like the Paris Salon.

Poster. Condition: Good with no dust jacket. 4x28 1/2; 1 pages; 41 x 29.5 Inches , French railway travel poster. 1910-1925. Thin aper, no backing added. Some marginal faults, see photo. Upper left corner is badly frayed but fraying does not extend into the designe. This type of poster as printed on thin paper with flamboyand designs, Currently retail for around $700 in fine condition, which this, with margin faults, is not, Railway posters were colorful advertisements that promoted train travel and holiday destinations. They were displayed in railway stations, ticket offices, and on platforms. Purpose To entice people to travel by train, To sell tickets for new trains, and To promote rail tourism routes Originally $300 now only $150.
